If so, then how much? This outfitter is simply packing us in, to his camp using his tents etc... Then we hunt on our own on foot.

Nytro,

Do a search on this site, and you should find at least one long thread about tipping. It may have been in the hog forum, but I can't recall offhand.

I think there are several thoughts, but the bottom line is that you definitely should show your appreciation for good service. A 10% tip is considered reasonable, at least according to sources from Outdoor Life Magazine (do a search on tipping at Outdoor Life, and there's at least one good article) and some of the guys here on the list.

If you're in a drop camp, then your tip may vary, but you're still getting some service, and if the guide or his helpers have to help you pack out game, then you're getting even more service.

I let my guide keep the ivories, he was happy with that. I gave the cook and wrangler 100.00 for booze and goodies.
