Rainguard on Baush and Lomb

Anyone know how long Baush and Lomb has had "Rainguard" on their spotting scopes? I found one at the local gunrange that the guy said he bought new two years ago and trying to sell and claims it has the Rainguard.
I thought this was something new that they just came out with last year.

I think they've had it on their Elite spotting scopes for 3 years now. You could get the serial number and email Bushnell, they'd know if it had the"Rainguard" coating.
