Rechargable batteries

Do any of you have a guess on what battery will do best in a digital camera? I just got one and they go through them like a madman. I fly model planes and have nicads but I have no way to rechargs loose batteries. Ideas?

I have been using Panosonic brand in my Oly C-740. Bought them from Costco.

Canon offers a 2300MAmp NiMH set that is awsome. Easily last 5 times as long per charge as a set of alkalines in my Canon digital camera.
