What do you guys think of this press. I now have a single and want to upgrade to the turret one. Is it worth getting one of these? can you guys give me your opinion on this?
thanks
I have had one for about two years. I mounted it using a set of Dillon strong mounts. I have never had any issues with it and it does everything it is made to do. I purchased a second head for it and it takes about one minute to change. I have loaded several thousand pistol, small rifle and large rifle rounds without any problems. Although, I am buying a progressive loader for high voulme shooting of 9m/m and .223. With that said, for precision reloads you will be very happy with it.
Turret presses are very useful. When loading you set up all the dies for loading a caliber. If you damaged a case or find damage on one you can go back and resize more and not have to take down, reinstall and reset a die. I can do load development on two different calibers and leave the dies set up for quickly loading more with different powders or powder charges. If you do load development and significant reloading, the turret press is the way to go.
I purchased this one a couple of years back. If you're going to get a turret press, the only one worth considering is the Redding T-7. It has the widest footprint across the top of any turret press currently being manufactured. I can full length resize .460 Weatherby brass effortlessly without any spring. I also like the primer feed system. It works well, and I've never experienced a jam up. Bill T.
