I know there's a Video and Desktop Editing forum, so if this belongs there, I can move it, just let me know.

Here's my situation. I have pictures of two of my gr-gr-gr-grandparents. (at that level, you have 64 ancestors) These pictures are photocopies of photographs of (charcoal?) portraits. And they look like just what they are, photocopies.

Here's my question. If I scan them, is there any software that will help make them look more like portraits, and less like photocopies? Maybe add that brown tinge to them? Do any of you have that software, and are you proficient with it? I'd hate to go buy an expensive program just to touch up these two pictures. Can any of you help me, or can you tell me who can?

not saying that I'm great with Photoshop, but I'm willing to take a stab at it.

I have a program that fixes photos also (Jasc photoshop). I've redone all my old family photos and would be willing to try yours. Just email the pic and I can see what I can do.

Anything you can do will be MOST appreciated! All I want is to make them look more like photographs or portraits, and less like photocopies. Thanks in advance!!!!
