.30-30 for general utility..Short barrelled .45-70 or .444 or .450 for brush bomber.[/b]
Lee makes a nice little package that you can get into for under $50 that, while it won't let you churn out three or four hundred rounds in an evening, will let you load up a box or two of very consistent, reliable ammunition.
AMMOE, one of our Pro-Staffers did a pretty good write-up on the Lee system a while back. You can read about it HERE.[/b]
The .204 is a varmint round. It is NOT a big game round. It is not designed for pigs or deer (although I'm sure it will kill both). Should work fine on 'yotes, although you might want to bounce the idea around in the varmint forum... sounds like some mixed reviews on the round so far.I hope this is the right spot for this.. I was thinking about getting a Rugar .204 barrel for my contender. Do you think this is enough gun for pig hunting and varmints (yotes)? I usually do not shoot more than 50 - 75 yards with my pistol if that makes a difference, and it is scoped. OR, should I just stay in the 30 cal range?
Thanks..R[/b]
