I am in Louisiana on business and drove from Shreveport to New Orleans this evening. Saw three groups of hog's on the side of the road plus a few road kill. A handful of nice whitetail too. Snapped this pic of a few of the smaller ones. Sorry for the crappy shot it was with my phone through the windshield. Don't see them on the road at home in Nor Cal that's for sure...

Wow. Nice hog easy. If that was my yard I think I might buy myself a rocking chair load up and wait for someone to stroll by. Back in Dallas next month. Think I will bring my bow out this time.

It is funny how places like that have so many outdoor and hunting opportunities that hogs are the last thing on their minds. there are probably more squirrel hunters than hog hunters. Keep the pics coming.

I see them all the time from the road in norcal and in socal. Seen em around santa margarita, santa ynez valley and 1 out to lompoc down south, they are everywhere down here, just gotta get used to looking for them. Around mount diablo and its foothills up in norcal. All of this is private or parks where hunting is off limits or available to the old boys network only. I actually hate seeing them cause I know I can't hunt em.

Well, the funny thing is that pig was wandering around town last summer and even got named by the locals. It would walk up the creek bed through my place, usually after dark and even though I was ready a couple of times with my bow, it never happened as it all boils down to luck. In fact he put on over 100lbs in the short summer months, but then was never seen again...
We get them all the time coming in from the surrounding ranch.
