Rookie Range Finder Purchaser

Although I've been hunting for many years, it's only in the last 2-3 that I have had enough money to purchase some of the things that I have always wanted. Now I'm looking to buy a range finder and a spotting scope as my newy aquired hunting lease has a lot of open prairie. I don't know much about range finders, bu I think I want one to use with my gun and one with my bow. I'm guessin' that I'll need one that will go out at least 600 yards. I haven't heard much about range finders so any help selecting one would be appreciated. The same goes for a spotting scope. Not sure what I need. I can't spend too much, but I don't want to scrimp, either. Thanks!

Buckbuster go to jesses main page and look at the rangfinder site. It has lots of info on lots of types and places to buy them on line. This site will also have comments from people with thier thoughts. Personaly I wuold buy the new leica 1200 and maybe the new waterpruf Bushnell. The Lieca 1200 dose ranges from 11-1200 yards so that would definatly do both jobs. The best part of the Leica is that it runs on a standard 9 volt battery. Be careful so of the new rangefinders run on camera batterys.

I have the Nikon 800, which is the same as the Bushnell. It works just fine. If I were in the market today, I would go with the Leica.
