This is from last weekend at a ranch near Crystal City. My dad went out to a friend's ranch for some R&R, and this is the results...lol. I think there are 14 in that pic. But over the whole weekend I beleive they killed 22. they quarted up every hog. Nothing was wasted.[/b]

That's an awful lot of piggies! I bet there are grills firing up all across the Lone Star State now.

Yup that is Texas for you. My good friend sold his ranch in the area of Houston, TX late last year. During the months of August to October he was spreading corn on the ground everyday and he said the big boars were coming in daily. Finally in October before he left the ranch, he shot a 400 lb. boar. He knows the buyers and they still allow hunts in the ranch for hogs. My hunting partner and I are setting up to go hog hunting in August-September either in that Houston ranch or another ranch where we can also gain access. But that is Texas hog hunting for you. Plentiful, virtually unrestricted(no poison allowed, but you can bait 'em. spotlight 'em, stick 'em, spear 'em, club 'em, trap 'em or shoot 'em) and there are big ones too. Long live Texas. 'Nuff said.
