They are not very easy to photograph....

great shot wapiti. Hummers are hard to shoot. I tried to get some last year and didnt have any good shots. What were your camera settings for that?

Great work Wapiti. I took about 50 shots this weekend on hummers. Getting the lighting, focus and composition right are really a challenge.

Thanks guys, my settings were ISO 200, 300mm, f8, 1/500, fill flash from in camera flash. The flash only tends to light the underside and add a sparkle to the eye.....

That is a great picture. I have tried to get pictures of humming birds before and have gotten a few, but nothing along those lines. That picture should be published.

Excellent photo, your really caught the iridescence of his throat. I have been trying to photograph hummingbirds for a couple of years and I know how tough it is to get a photo like this one, is this a crop from your original?
