I was in the market for a decent AR. Everyone's out. I did not think the run would be this big of a deal. Ades stocked up in November.

Stores out of ARs
Turners FV
Ades in Orange
Field Time Sports in Westminster
The Stockade in Westminster

Websites Out or backordered
DD
BCM
Several others here and there I ran across

All: since we are keeping tabs on gougers per one of Jesses posts, Ades upped the price of a Colt 6290 by $400 with a smile. They are a long time family owned store supposedly.

everyone is price gouging. They are selling out fast. They cant even keep them on the shelves. Manufacturers are sold out and are back ordered for 3-6 months and getting worst. Your best bet is to get one at a gun show but youll probably pay an arm and a leg. Im looking for a new lower my self to complete another AR but no luck.

I'm a little up in the air about the gouging. In reality it's just supply and demand at a micro level. On the other side, I feel like our own community is hosing us. But...they may need to make their revenues fast and now since their sales my be sharply declining in the coming months. However, I think they can make the the money up with smaller price increases therefore selling more, or, have good sales on everyday items.

they arent having a problem selling even at the super high prices. Im waiting for a cheap lower to come into my lap. There is a good debate about price gouging on calguns.net the stores where saying they do this because it gets harder to buy the product even at their low price due to back orders so they increase prices on hot items so that they stay in business which in truth made sense to me when it was explained. I mean seriously would you like your local gun store go out of business because they cant get their Hot(popular) item or would you rather pay the higher price because you cant get it anywhere else?

My timing is always off! I was hoping to get a 308 platform rifle this Spring. Now I'm hosed, or at least over budget.

This is just insane. You could get a DDM4 (as close to mil spec for civ. use as possible), several mags and and a couple hundred rounds before CT.

I had a strong conviction I NEEDED an AR the week Obama got re-elected. I'm glad I got one then. I only wish I would have stocked up on cheap ammo. I've been able to find some cheap .308 for .50 a round here and there but its hard to come by.

I went to a local gunshow last weekend and they had about a dozen ARs going for $1800-$2000 a piece. Tempers were high. There were some hot-heads in the crowd trying to pick fights with the vendors over the high prices. Ammo was ridiculous. 223 is going for $1 a shell.

I don't think there is anything wrong with people naming their price. Luckily for me I wanted to buy a $200 insurance policy the last time they were talking about bullet buttons and I got a second lower with my complete AR build.

I agree, however it's is coming to the point of taking advantage of our own community members. 10-20% no problem. 50% into the multi-100s is unjust IMHO.

We got a show in SOCAL this weekend. With all the restrictions we already have driving prices higher and Feinstein the gun grabber it's just going to be stupid and chaotic.
