Maybe in a couple of years...but for now, I'm just happy to have elk on film (two weeks of time and this is the only living animal caught on film). The Son and I found a heard of 50+ elk last Sunday in a different location than this...so the camera MIGHT be moving

Very cool pic. What are they coming in to. Is there a Wallow there?

Actually, NOT so cool. The cam is covering a trail on the ridge above a North facing slope. Homeboy isn't supposed to be off the trail near my cam...makes for retarded looking photos and me wondering what caused him to venture towards the cam

. The area around the trail is terrain restrictive and USUALLY keeps them ON THE TRAIL for better photos...but of course Murphy hangs out in the woods also, eh?

On our way into the cam my son Nick jumped a bachelor herd out grazing at 1500 hours. The biggest of the three elk herd was a good looking 5 or 6 by (he was unable to count the points as he trotted away), but Nick was adament the fourths and main beam were long enough.

I have been hymn-hawing around with my digitals for months now and need to get off my butt to get better coverage of the area.

THIS is what the photo is SUPPOSED to look like
