Buisness is sending me to San diego for the entire month of July. So I figured what the heck I will bring a couple guns and maybe try and hunt a hog. But the internet so greta it is does not seem to spiy out much in the way of guides for hog hunting. Can someone recommend a reasonable and good guide who does not use dogs in the San Diego area for a gun hunt. I could do the muzzleloader thing too but I am limited to what I can take with me and I need to set it up prior to Sunday when I pack the truck to drive down. Any help will be appriciated and I guess I should say I will be hunting by myself. I plan on bringing my .308 and a 41 mag with me for hunting. Would like to do a pistol hunt but am not as of yet confinant of my abuility under pressure with it. I want to be able to be a little flexible as far as the days of the week I hutn so want to stay within a reasonable distance from San Diego.

By the way whats Diesel running down there right now?

Jason welcome to Jesse's. You'll find some great guys here, and good talk.
Now the bad news. There are no wild pigs in San Diego county. The closest guide service hunts would be at the Tejon Ranch. That's about 3-4 hours north of San Diego. There are no huntable populations of wild pigs anywhere closer to San Diego.

jason, may as well leave the gun's at home and pack your fishing pole's, other than coyote's there's not much to hunt in SD in july, even yote hunting is tough because we lost so much habitat to the recent fire's,I own an Inn north of san diego, laestanciainn.com, if you have time on your hand's stop by and we'll swap a few lie's over a cold one, Bill Goodson

Jason,

If you dont mind a "Put & Take" hunt you could try Big Horn Canyon Ranch. I've only been there one time and it was when I was a youngster. It was a decent place for me too take my first hog and put some meat in the freezer. I wouldnt hunt it again, just not my style. But, if your lookin to put some meat in the freezer, this might be the place for you...
