Well gang, I lost my lease this afternoon.

Yes it is true. All the hunts that are booked now, well, that's it.

I have been trying for the last 3 years to pick up more land for guiding on, but, due to the litigious state that we live in, and the ever present threat of a lawsuit for even witnessing a tragic car crash, I can not find another landowner who wishes to make GREAT cash money for NO WORK at all. ( This is true. There have been " Stress Awards " for the trauma involved in witnessing horror.) I work in my wife's law firm and the faxes that come in on awards will stun you.

I had a great thing here as I was allowed to hunt there in exchange for keeping the hogs out of the ranchers crops. A symbiotic relationship to say the least.

So, now, we are closing the doors. I consider myself truly blessed to have been able to have such a run. I am fortunate to have been able to meet the people that I have met and nurture the relationships that I have made.

I will have to come out next season on a JHO ham slam so that I may meet more of you JHO members. I have yet to meet any of you that I did not have an outstanding time with.

For those of you on your upcoming hunts...PLEASE pay the piper and work the Mountain. There is a group of 12 pigs in the draws back there. The landowners friend took 2 last weekend that were 300 lbs each. These pigs are thick across the shoulders and are very tenacious.

My 2 guys tonight when I was placing them.... ran into a snorting hog, in the Bull Thistle creek, where Phil wrote about us stalking in the early morning..But, we were 3 minutes into the evening hunt, and we couldn't get this pig out of the dense cover. Think drives folks.

Once again, I want to thanks those of you who are up coming clients, past clients and for everyone with their encouraging words and support. I hope to open the doors again in the next year.

My best to you all. Thanks for the wonderful gift of memories.

Glad to hear it wasn't a total loss, then. I was disapointed when I read your original post as I was looking forward to doing a little bobcat hunting in October! Jeph was going to contact you to set it up.

The hunting on that ranch in Bakersfield is far superior. We'll still be doing Deer and pigs, but, the deer will be in D8 and D9. We also offer Bear up there to.

Sorry for the confusion guys.
