Flatbroke and I went for a hunt on Saturday with a couple friends. I wanted to get an early start, but some other people were having a rough morning. Believe it or not, we didn't even put dogs on the ground until lunch time. It was bright and sunny, heck of a time to go hunting. We were driving along roading the dogs. We went into the ranch about 200 yards. The dogs bailed down into a small creek. They lined out and all 5 dogs were gone. After about 5 minutes, one by one they showed back up. We made our way to the back of a pasture, that borders the creek, and some trees and brush. We were sitting there talking. All the dogs were out looking. About 10 minutes later one dog starts baying. After a moment, two dogs barking, then three. By now all the dogs are there and going off. The catch dog is going crazy. We figured they were no more than 150 yards out. We sent in the catch. As we were running to the fight you could hear grunting and growling and barking. Then there was a brief second of silence, followed by squealling, and barking again. You could tell when the catch dog hit. Now it is only broken barking, with lots of growling and grunting, and some squealling. A few minutes later we arrived. They had a nice sow caught. We snapped a couple photos, then got the dogs off. We continued to look for a couple more hours, then called it a day. By 5pm we were cooking and drinking.
