Was out deer hunting on A-zone opener. Tagged a forky on Sat. morning and found some well used pig trails going into the thickets. Sunday morning driving to the spot again. At the turn of the road going into the my parking spot, a hog was standing right in the middle of the road about 50 yards infront of the truck. The rifle was still in the case in the back of the truck. By the time I got the rifle ready, the pig ran into the bush and four more pigs followed. Took a shot at the last pig. Walked over to look for sign of hit but no blood. Turned around to look down the trail the pigs came from and two more pigs were making their way in the tall grass to cross the road. I could only see their back. Followed the lead pig with the scope crossed-hairs waiting for a clear shot. As soon as the lead pig came out on the road, it stopped. Put a .270 tsx to the shoulder and it dropped in its track. The second pig shifted gears across the road into the thickets before I could chamber another round.
