It rained all day Sunday. Not a sign of pig because every thing got washed away. Monday morning no rain. Came across the tracks of a single boar. Followed that track from 10am to 2pm. Tracks lead into a patch of chemise. I walked the tank road around the patch of chemise and no track came out. I sat in the middle of the tank road while my buddy crazy Sam " aka my hunting dog" goes after the track in the chemise. Twenty minutes later I looked up the tank road and a black pig came running out. I emptied the 4 round magazine at the running pig and it rolled backward flopping. BBQ ribs are yummy now.

Nice little tusker .Did you keep the head?

Gave the head to my buddy, crazy Sam. He worked hard as a hunting dog and flushed the pig out of the thickets. He wanted to make a necklace with the tusks. It's for good luck he said.

got a question though what the heck is "chemise"

I believed "Chamise" is the correct spelling. I think some people called them chapparal. They are the brush in the background of the pic I attached in the original post.

Them poor piggies don't have a chance L2H. Nice hog :hog chewing:

Pigs like to bed in chamise mossyoakhntr05. Tough to wade in on them when in there, low tunnels make it hard to move around in there.
