Wednesday morning arrived at the parking lot at 4:30am. Hiked in the dark and got to the usual glassing spot just as dawn cracked over the horizon. Started the usual glassing out dark objects on the hills. 9am came around and no pig, just the usual doe and bucks that always walked the skyline ridge which was over the private property side of the fence. Dad, I, and buddy decided to hike up to the top and make a big circle back to the truck. As soon as we reached the top, I caught movement down in a little gulley under an oak tree. I threw the bino on and made out 4 pigs milling around. Using a big oak tree to conceal myself from the pig, I quickly closed the distance to about 60 yards. Peaked over the side of the big oak tree and BANG!.........the young boar gave out a loud squeel and dropped flopping. I guestimate this one at 120 lbs.
