Wednesday morning arrived at the parking lot at 4:30am. Hiked in the dark and got to the usual glassing spot just as dawn cracked over the horizon. Started the usual glassing out dark objects on the hills. 9am came around and no pig, just the usual doe and bucks that always walked the skyline ridge which was over the private property side of the fence. Dad, I, and buddy decided to hike up to the top and make a big circle back to the truck. As soon as we reached the top, I caught movement down in a little gulley under an oak tree. I threw the bino on and made out 4 pigs milling around. Using a big oak tree to conceal myself from the pig, I quickly closed the distance to about 60 yards. Peaked over the side of the big oak tree and BANG!.........the young boar gave out a loud squeel and dropped flopping. I guestimate this one at 120 lbs.

dkhuntr25, I noticed that you ask for the location of my hunt a couple times in my previous posts. Although the place I hunt is popular and well known to many many people, it took me many empty handed trips to figure out the right timing and spots to actually be successful. The area I hunt is public land and others have the right to hunt it just as much as I do. Infact I don't mind sharing it to anyone, but instead of posting the location name here to let the whole world know, I just preferred to keep it minimal. If you are interested on where I've been hunting, just email me and I will be glad to point you in the right direction. But for me to come right out and state the name of the place in a public forum, that's just not me.

Have him contact me and I will try to rub him some of those lucky copper tone lotion.

Man L2H, you out to try and set some kind of record or something. I can't remember the last time someone killed that many hogs in a very short time on public land. Way to go!!!

I'm going to try. Part IV was almost a success kill, it was just not meant to be my lucky day. Stay tuned for Part V.
