Need some help IDing some poo I found in a new spot I was scouting. Found these two piles I couldn't identify. The one had large seeds and looked like a pretty big pile but rain had washed it down into the leaves a bit. Seeds you see were about the size of a large cherry seed.

The other looked to have a small amount of hair in it but not as much as the usual coyote scat and a little bigger.

Looks a little like bear. Are there bears in the area? If not, then I'd say it's a pig. It looks like it's an omnivore (assuming the scat is from the same animal).

yeh there are enough bears in the area to make me consider that. Though i've never seen one or their scat so I wouldn't know. I only know they've been killed in the general area. Definitely pigs in the general area for sure.

thanks gents.

The bottom picture (the one with your left hand) is coyote - my guess is you found it on a game trail. The top two are impossible to tell for sure because of the "wash-out". A guess would be bear or pig, but no way to know for sure. Keep looking in the area until you find some nice firm poo, then send me the gps coordinates. Good luck brother and post more turd pictures.

First ya gotta whack one brotha !! You're on the clock, I'm gonna put out some trail cameras this weekend! As usual it'll be tough on public land, but I have a plan that (in theory) should work. If I score, I'll send you a pm with my strategy. If I don't score, ignore everything I've ever said, or posted! lol.

All of it are coycote scats. Coyote does eat manzanita berries. They all look several months to a year old.

If we're gonna talk sh*t... Scat like this was all over the place after last week's storm where I don't normally find scat. Thought maybe this was hog but doesn't look anything like the example above. I've known foxes to lay a scent-marker dump on top of rocks, but that just looks different. Guess?

LOoks like turkey to me. THey like to jump up on rocks to be king of the hill to other competing birds. Found a rock like that 2 yrs ago with fresh green turkey scat all over it.
