i am sorry for your crappy experience. that sucks. but i am not a rich hunter. 95% of what i do is on public land. it is part of the deal. public land has just that running about...the public!. i deal with it. i just add it to the "charm and challenges" of the experience.

your quote above; that is one of my favorite parts of hunting. the cameraderie! making friends, chatting it up, chit talking.........the 5% of private land i do get to hunt? every bit of it as been opened up to me through some hunting friendship.

Let it go. I've been labeled and you all have a sour taste in your mouth. I get it, you all go hunt together and become friends. Those are not my intentions. Obviously! I'm all about hunters wanting to be better hunters. That is my point. This place is too crowded, and we are all tired of guys f-ing up everyone else's hunt on public land because they are lazy or just don't care. Just be cognoscente of all the things pertaining to hunting, including hunter etiquette. The day I had originally posted, I had just got home from hunting and had this guy tramp blatantly past me, on through some bedding area only to spook a hog I had been after for several hunts. When I had returned to the vehicle, his buddy had been sleeping in their rig, so I asked "where you from"? and he replied. Then I asked " How'd you hear of this place"? He replied JHO. Now I'm not knocking the web site, as I feel It is a positive. I just hoped to reach out to them, but with fire on the tongue and anger raging inside. It was to late, and the damage is done. I'll chalk it up to a learning experience and move on from there. Peace out.

Yes, a little anger management is in order. One of the last times I hunted public land people other than hunters were on it. No camo, no scent control no volume control.They too had the right to be there, doing whatever it is they enjoy in the great outdoors. God bless them.

Public land is public last time I checked. Meaning you might see people lurking around.

It is not right to blow someone else's hunt but it may happen without malicious intent. I am sure we have all had our hunts blown from time to time. But to come on here thinking you have all the answers means that you still have alot to learn.

I did grow up hunting and I have taken many animals over the years. There is always something to learn. If prey didn't evolve or learn they would become exctinct.

Funny thing is we never had scent control products. Guess my family and I have created your problems over the last couple of centuries. Probably started with the natives though. Nobody told them they needed scent control.

What we need to do is encourage and help others learn how to become better predators. Pass on the hunting heritage to as many people as possible. If you quite looking at the world through your glass belly button you will see that hunters are a dying breed.

Wrong place, wrong time and definatley not the right approach.

I was thinking the same thing. It would take someone about 3 milliseconds to figure out a way to use these signs to totally shut a place off to any "intruders" and claim a huge tract of productive public land for themselves. I agree with the concept and its intent for safety, but I'm afraid it would be misused.

Sheesh, hunting public land is getting as bad as surfing with all the territorial squabbling.

Hey bro, I know how you feel. I'm sure we've as hunters, been through that same situation before. But the thing is, to be a better hunter, we would understand those situations and move on. Everywhere we go in life, such as fishing, work, store, driving, and just life itself will always have those careless type of people who don't care about anyone or anything. Even if you have a piece of private property with no tresspassing signs all over, there will be those that will pretend they did not see it. That's just how life is.

Not much we can do on public land except to understand that it's like rolling :dice:'s, hey maybe that same spot where you hunted was also that person's favorite honey hole and that same boar you've been chasing probably had a name by that person.

like that whacko back east a few years back who thought that the private land he was hunting was public ..and after being confronted..decieded to shoot several people in the back killing them..but if i remember correctly..the dude came up with some b.s. of self defense because they were using racial slurs toward him and he got pissed off..so i guess that made it o.k. to hammer those people for telling the moron to get off thier land... my god.. once again,, i find my self posting on ingnorant
