scimshaw attempt no#2

G'day.Well I had another go at scrimshawing.It looks alright.It takes abit of time and alot of patience.But thats what it's all about I guess.I'd like to do some more in time.It would be cool to do reproductions of black and white photo's when I get it down pat.This and one on a knife handle I made have been good practice.I learn't alot during this one.It could be alot better but it's somewhat of a start.

That is pretty cool! You are right scrimshawing is an art. I watched the eskimo's in Alaska do it when I lived up there. They have what it takes!

Belchfire:I use ash or charcol to darken the picture.I have used ink from a pen aswell.It's almost as if anything could be removed from a highly polished antler with a bit of a rub with a wet cloth.
