After two missed oppertunities this season I have finally decided to scope my marlin 336 30-30. What I do know is that I need it for target identification (while poised to shoot) and target aquisition. I'm interested in a 1.5X5 or something like that. It must cost no more that my marlin is worth (typical value $225.00). What I don't know is everything else. Can anyone offer me any advise? Thanx S/T

Cabela's has the Elite 3200 Firefly in 1.5-4.5 in your price range, $219.99. You might want to check that out.

Oops, I forgot to mention that the 3200 is made by Bushnell. Cabela's also has the Leupold Rifleman 2x7 for $179.99. Both are reputable scopemakers. The Leupold has a lifetime warranty, I'm not sure about the Bushnell.
