I guess it is true that you will get 10 different rulings from 10 different people or agencies. The route I took was to ask a Riverside Parks Ranger and he indicated it was OK and that there was hogs there (nice guy) but to stay clear of flood control areas, also called Riverside sheriff in the Rubidoux area and the attending deputy also indicated it was OK to hunt but with archery only. Next was the DFG and they also said it was OK to hunt the area as long as all of the proper tags and liciences were in use.
They all did indicate that access had to be obtained from bordering land owners as there is very limited public access. I agree that should be in writting and carried with you.
The next time I do see the Riverside Ranger, I will try to have him give me some sort of written ruling on the place. With all I have been reading, now I am curious..is it or not? But, a buddy of mine says he knows of more access points so I am gonna check them out.
