This is more hype from the forest service. I wonder what they are really up to.Everytime I talk to the Forest service I get glittering generalities on where to find the pigs. I have humped all over this area and have seen two pigs. And that's been over a year ago.
how dep permits have they given out? I'd be surprised if they have given even one out.

They said in the article it was a feral pig (from domestic stock).
The biker said the pig in the pic was around 200 lbs - he reported there was another pig in the group nursing piglets at 400 lbs.
Pigs have attacked people before, so whats your point? Maybe they were protecting the piglets. Sounds normal to me.
I have tried to take a picture with my phone only to get a message "photos full" etc...

I dont know why you guys are so quick to cry wolf on this, it sounds legit to me. that canyon is secluded and a challenge to get into. You dont have anything to base your objections on.

I base my opinon on 40 days a year and miles and miles of walking this country.Add that with talking to a whole lot of people who live out here. one thing about domestic hogs are that they would make easy prey to a hunter and I have'nt known anyone yet to get a domestic hog.I have spoke and know some of the few that have acually taken pigs out here.Things that are written up in articles are not playing out in true life. But hey get your truck ready and the next trip we can go into the Hauser wilderness.I don't mind the walk.

How many wild pigs of domestic stock have u guys seen this year...or in the last 20yrs...I wasn't rippin u badbuckfever...this is just the kind of crap la times wld write about....and yes a sow with piglets in the wild wld attack...but she wld also leave area ASAP with her piglets....this is from years of field experience....and I'm sure 90% of the guys who hunt pigs like I do wld agree....go ahead and defend the article....if u are a hunter and like killin hogs like we do....u wld see this as a really bad article....for all hunters...

Oh one more.....who has seen a 400lb pig in ca... Have seen one at tejon come close....but that's where they have over est. 5000+ pigs.....reside.....not likely.....

IMO:
I say BS too, but anything can happen.
DFG already said the hogs down here are sick and or weakly. The hog pictured looks well feed, unless they have the nutritional resources not many wild/feral hogs look that healthy . That hog would have taken to the thick stuff next to the road before it chased someone. If he rode on top of the hog it would made a bluff and then headed for the hills.
