Tried a new spot in the San Diego backcountry Sat that I thought might hold some pigs. Hit it early as the snow stopped falling with the goal of better tracking. Tracked a single pig's tracks for 1/4 mile up, down, around, and between then lost the tracks. A while later picked up multiple tracks and fresh rooting post snowfall that early a.m. Tracking in the snow was great. Amazing how much ground they are covering. Was also surprised at the varying patterns and the "tree to tree" pattern to rub trees and root for acorns. But no luck with a visual. Will try a new spot a little further north in a few weeks.
Anyone hear of pig harvests in SD yet for 2013?
