Thanks for the input. I have more doubt about the cat/dog print because the picture looks like claws showing even though in person they were not visible.

As for the 3 "pig" track pictures I posted on this thread, they definitely are not cow. There are no cows or cow pie droppings anywhere near these tracks. So can only be deer or pig. Since rooting very near each picture site and because of the shape of the tracks, I'm concluding (and hoping) pig.


If those tracks were here I'd say they were most likely from a cow. A 4" very rounded pig track is just unlikely - at least in my neck of the coastline. You should check the spacing between prints. Longer spaces = bigger critter.

I can't tell what the other print is from. Except to say it's more in size to a large bobcat track than cougar. Whether it's from a dog or not depends on if the trail/road is used for day hikers with pets or not. Way too large for coyote.

New to the Forum and have been doing some scouting with limited success in the area around Mt.Palomar; not sure if you're interested but i know im always looking for someone to scout with who is willing to put in the time.

I got out frequently and haven't gotten one yet but i'm one some pig in the south county. Will be camping out next weekend hunting for a couple days in an aera with lots of pig sign. I've seen a football but thats it.
