I read where pigs are becoming more and more common in SD. Where about? Looking to go out and toss some lead at them on public land with out a long drive from OC. Main problem is 4x4 is in pieces and new truck is 8 months out. So stuck driving my hot rod everyday and she doesnt do trails lol. I have a buddy that will drive if the wife lets him out for a day so SD is close enough for him and I to hit.

Wild pigs still hogging local hunting spotlight, San Diego pigs

check out this posting by jesse. if not its on the second page of this forum. being a san diego hunter and having hunted here for a while and having yet to kill or see a wild pig during my travels, the best advice i can give to you is to hope and pray. they are out there that is for sure. there is definitely not an abundance of them. but at least if you guys come down and go out then youll get to spend a day in the great outdoors and get some exercise. but check the link i posted above and give it a read and that will probably give you some better insight.

No worries on the 4x4 you have to walk to the piggys anyways.
Go to the Cleaveland National Forest rangers office and they will give you a map that takes you right to the pigs.
Good Luck.

It'll be interesting to see how many, if any, will be taken by deer hunters this year. My guess is that's where most of them will be taken in San Diego.......

Hopefully I am one of them...... :bounce-aqua:

The map in the DFG office certainly tells you were the pigs were and maybe a few still are. Hunters, hikers, and home owners have seen them popping up in several locations outside the designated San Diego county "pig area".

I don't think the population is really big enough yet to concentrate on any one area but I do know a few people pursuing them on a regular basis on private property.
