Hi I was lucky enough to shoot a pig yesterday and was wondering if you guys could point me in the right direction to have it processed. I know of Los Gatos Meats, but was hoping to avoid the 2 plus hour round trip drive from my house. So do any of you know of somewhere on the Peninsula to SF that will do a good job of it?
thanks, Jeff
ps. I'll post a story and some pics later today

Dittmar's on San Antonio Road in Los Altos/Mtn View will take skinned pigs. I have used him and Los Gatos Meats. Both on the expensive side if you get lots of sausage made, which is very good by both.

I'd have to second the suggestion of Dittmars. Great folks, and they do a fantastic job. Take a look at their list of preps, and you can get almost anything done. Just be sure it's very clean when you bring it in...

I'm just finishing up my pig from last year. I didn't realize I'd get as much sausage as I did, so I asked for only Italian and spicy Italian. If I knew I'd have a whole cooler of sausage, I would have asked for many different types. It will run you about $3 a pound, but that's when they add filler and spices. It's a very good deal, but ask a lot of questions. They'll do whatever you want, but don't be afraid of asking for suggestions.
Drop me a line if you have any questions.
