So some questions, is that really 85 acres or is that a typo?

Bobcat ranch wild pig hunts all during the week?

85 acres is correct. Wish it was more, but we'll take what we can get.

If you get drawn for the bobcat ranch, your permit is only good for one period, which consists of two days during the week (monday-tuesday or thursday-friday).

That's weird...I've been trying to get the into the special hunts with the areas of San Antonio and share program hunt Bobcat Ranch but I can't seem to do it. I even click on the application link above, from DFG Bear but it keeps taking me to the education assistance website only. What am I doing wrong?
I also went to the F&G website, signed in and still have problems signing up for the hunts. AHHHH......please help.

Pigs in the merced river near snelling? That was my old stomping ground back in the mid-80s. Fished those ponds and that stretch of the merced river and never seen or heard of pigs in the area. I'm surprise to hear pigs are in the area.

Are you signing into the ALDS website (http://www.dfg.ca.gov/licensing/ols/)? Once you sign in, then you should be able to click on the "2012 - Hunting" link on the left hand navigation menu, then you can scroll down and purchase drawing applications for the SHARE hunts.

Anyone have an idea of how many people are applying for each of these hunts or know a way to find out? I'm curious what the odds are to get drawn

This will be my second application. No luck on the first go around. Keeping my fingers crossed. Does anyone have any insight on the potential of the Share deer hunt? Just curious to how many deer may be held up on that ranch?

I don't remember being charged last time to apply. Is this new? What was the sucess rate of the spring hunt? If we are going to be charged an application fee it would be nice to know how many applied in the spring and what the success rate was. Having previously came up empty on the draws I would hesitate to plunk down $80 to apply for all the hunts in the hopes of getting one. But that may be the point, maybe this will weed out some applications.

I was wandering the same thing. I guess they get enough apps worth charging for. I searched for harvested pics of pigs on JHO from Bobcat ranch and was unable to find anything? Anyone have any hog pics from Bobcat Ranch?

The application fees are new to the SHARE Program. We were subsidizing the program with pig tag revenues up until now (at least Bobcat Ranch). Now it can be self-sustaining or grow with the app fees. If you recall, I polled you all last year sometime trying to figure out how much you thought would be fair and reasonable.

Does that mean the cost of pig tags will do down or will that money be utilized in some other way?

Pig tag revenue is now rolled into a bigger fund for all big game management. It used to be mandated solely for wild pig "projects," but that's no longer the case. Under the new system, pig tag revenue can be used for deer, bear, sheep, elk, pronghorn and pig projects.
