While out on our bike ride this morning we came across this snapper crossing the road. He is missing an eye and a few claws too. I thought he was a pretty good sized turtle, about 19-20 from nose to tip of tail. He stood his ground and came after me if I got too close..LOL...We see alot of these smashed on the road just about every time we go out riding.

I didn't realize their necks were that long. Nice captures Hideandwatch.

Great head shot ! The detail is very sharp.

A face only a mother could love ! Gives a whole new meaning to " old one eye ".

Thanks for the comments, after growing up in S Calif and living there most of my adult life I had never seen one of these critters till a couple of years ago..they are a very agressive beast..that eye had to hurt somewhat, and losing them claws had to hurt too, we all know what a hangnail feels like..OUCH! Sometime something will pay the price for the pain he's gone thru...LOL...
