A couple weeks ago I was on a web-site called Lake-Link in their WI forums. A guy had posted some nice pictures of some good bucks. I thought I recognized some of the bucks and terain, so I asked him if the photos came from the urban wildlife area I suspected. Turns out they were from the area I thought. It was the same area I found my first set, which was kind of a unique rack (i've posted it before), so I posted a pick of the sheds for him to see. Low and behold, he tells me that he has pics of my buck and emailed them to me. Small world! Here are the sheds again along with a couple of the live pics he sent me. Panfish Professor, if you ever find yourself on Jesse's, thanks again for the pics!

Great story and nice finds! Wanted you to know I hunt in SE Minnesota and travel to Monominie WI to hunt with a friend. Don't know if you get to these parts often, but its a small world - thought I'd ask?

The picture of the buck didn't come up the first time and when I went back, it came on. That is awesome! Not only the interesting story but the color of that buck is incredible. He has a variety of browns and reds mixed in. The picture makes the hairs stand up, makes me want to run for the woods. Excellent story and photos - thanks and keep em coming!

las,

Yeah, I get up that way on occasion. Grew up in Eau Claire, folks still live there. I used to work about 15 miles west of Menomonie. Lived in St. Paul for 4 years. Cousins live in Cannon Falls, MN. That has got to be right by you...how's all that for small world?

I don't see any of my pics. I will try to browse to them and post them individually.

Wouldn't even let me post the pics at first. Said it did not support file type or something like that. Noticed the pics he sent me were bitmap. Changed them to jpeg, maybe that fixed it.

And here is the set of sheds. Sorry if any of these end up doubles. I don't see a delete button, and the edit button is no longer available on my original post.

That's pretty cool!! There's no doubt the sheds came from that buck too.Now you have a nice unique set of sheds with before pics of the owner still carrying them. And a neat story involving a complete stranger sharing that same patch of woods with out you knowing it.
Is he a shed hunter too?

deershed, Yeah, he is a shedder. Sounds like an all around outdoorsman, but I am most impressed with his photography. Great shots.

His are the pictures by panfish professor. Many of those buck pics were taken at an urban State Forest in Milwaukee. You could see beautiful mature bucks nearly every time you went there, but with CWD concerns in nearby counties, they culled over 40 deer from this 230 acre park. Its probably healthier, but just not the same anymore.
