Not positive if this is a blacksnake, if anyone knows for sure please let me know. My dog was going nuts looking out the window and the snake was going straight up the maple tree. By the time I got out there with the cam it had already crawled down the tree and was on the ground.

Thanks for the comments, even the jokes...LOL...when I googled "blacksnake missouri" it mentioned the known ability to crawl straight up a tree, but I had seen kingsnakes in california do that before, least it isnt a venomous snake.

I had a dream last night that this snake was chasing me...LOL....

Black snakes actually will chase you. They are similar to a cotton mouth when they get a little pissed off. We used to get them to attack the boat a lot, after a little coaxing of course.

You got it. And they LOVE wild grapes so be careful if your ever around them during the ripening period.

That is a black rat snake "cowsucker". They are pretty docile and feed maily on rodents. Most older homes have them living in the walls.... You see skins in various places from the guys.

The black racer is one that seems to "chase" you.
