hunting started on thursday night got a sow about 120 lbs fighting through a foot plus of snow. had chance at another group but the dog blew it dog started barking at a nice three by three buck walking by and spooked a herd of eight pigs.friday morning head out after first light in the 24 degree morning air head to top of ranch every hill took at least two attemps to make it up powder snow no traction and it wont pack down not hardly a trail behind us wind just blew it over with powder . we see lots of tracks in the snow and set the dog loose she works the area and jumps out a coyote so i shoot at it about 300 yds and miss as the dog is comming back she lights up on a hog thats bedded 30 yds below us in the snow covered buck brush the pig runs for the top of the canyon then tries to go up the steepest part in deep snow not a wise choice for him a 150 yard shot stopped him in his tracks about 180lbs with 2.5'' tusks snow pig.jpg

nice work.
do you think its alot easyer to find the pigs in the snow, because of the fresh tracks?
