I'm getting tired of reading about NoCal and their Watefowl Days up there since we don't have squat down here.

What say we do it anyway, the heck with San JAcinto.

All we need is a club or any land where we can set up venders and water to do some dog retrieving if possible.

LAte August or September will work. THe venders would like to keep it close to Los Angeles or San DIego but I know many will drive to Wister to do it if we have to.

Need venders if you know anyone who wants to promote their products. Boat/trailer companies are welcome too to show up and show off their gear.

Anyone got any ideas? Make some calls and post up here. We can get this thing off the ground and have a good time too.

Calling contest
Pot luck dinner
Seminars on calling
Vender booths
etc etc.

Jesse,

I set up alot of booths for shows like Raahauges, CWA, DU etc....... let me know where & I'll bring my booth. If it's a no charge booth set up, then ask for a donation to raffle or auction off, that's what they usually hit me up with.

I think that's a great idea too Jesse but I think it's a little tight on time to get it done for this month or next. Not that it can't be done but if we have vendors come out for the event we want to make sure that it would be worthwhile for them too and if there is a small turn out due to a lack of enough advanced notice, it may be tough to get them out again.

Maybe it can be held at the Ramona or Mystic clubs. Not that it's all that much cooler there but August or Sept at Wister will be a tough draw.

I would love to see one with the shotgun reps there so you could shoot some of the newest guns before you spend 1000$ on one. They used to have a show at the sporting clay range where you could shoot demo guns, they a place for dogs to work. How about having it in the mid state area, fresno maybe. You would get lots more people that way.

It would be pretty neat to get some retriever guys there to hold a mock hunt test or something like that. It would good entertainment as well as neat to do.

Lake Henshaw or Lake Sutherland both offer duck huntng......Sutherland is a City owned and ran lake while Henshaw is leased to a private party. Sutherland hosts the Spring Turkey Tune-up each year with a pretty good draw. I also have a contact at the Greenhead Duck Club (Board member). They have a pond, skeet and trap range, rifle range and a field to work dogs in. I'll give a call and see what he thinks.....Greenhead also host the NWTF event every year....

I have a few guys that will singe up right now for a booth, just needs to know were and when.

Let’s not just talk about it. S. Cal has nothing for the waterfowler, I bet if we promote it starting in the next week or two, we could have something really set up for first weekend or the second weekend in Dec. Thank about it, just before Christmas???
You know we all buy a little something for your self’s at Christmas. We can do this!!!!!

Jesse if you’re up for it, I can help make it happen, I need a list requirement like trap range, Fields for the dog park, Booth spaces, demo graphics on were it would be best to hold it to maximize the amount of people that can attend. And if you don’t have the info I can get it, just let me know if your serious.

I used to do all the marketing for Tony Roma’s, Black Angus, Pizza Hut for the whole U.S. just to name a few I know. I can promote the hell out of this but if you what to do it this year and have a good turn out it needs to be started now and it needs to be 3 months out.

I'm tired of hearing it CAN'T happen this year. If you don't want to help or you're here to just offer excuses why it can't happen please hold your water. Those that want an annual Waterfowl Daze in SoCal start making some calls and finding a way to make this go.

I'm thinking a Sunday so we can get the peeps who are stuck working Saturdays.

LAst Sunday in August maybe? During dove season it's going to conflict. LAte SEpt?

It'll be free and we won't charge you just to park your dern car either.

How about Sept 25th? That's almost 8 weeks to promo it? Think of it as a good kegger party, the word will spread fine. Right now we need a location. We can fill in the vendors and other stuff after that.

Who has a place to put this on?

Also need someone to be the POC to get everything organized. I'd do it but I'm armpit deep right now. I'm really bothered by the fact we can't even get an annual waterfowl event going. All anyone wants to do is yap about it.

It's not my idea, it's something we've all wanted for years and I'm just trying to poke some people into taking the first step.

What about Sanjancinto, they have enough area, plenty of parking.

Plane it as a Mash clean up day and a youth education day, Jesse is right do it on a Sunday to get the reps their.
CWA, DU as No profits involved, they have the money to put it on. And some pull with the state.

Make it free for the venders so its only there time that they are giving up and make it free for the people to come. Maybe just pay for parking. This will entice a lot of people to come. After it takes off then we could start charging for vender space and attendance look for a better location so no.

Hell, with a kegger you only need 8 minutes to promote it.

Sept. 25th is perfect. After dove, before waterfowl and before a lot of guys travel to Canada. Brilliant!

You might look into:prado Olympic Shooting Park
17501 Pomona Rincon Road, Chino, CA 91710
(909) 597-4794

Plenty of parking, trap, skeet, etc.

Rosie O'donnel will be a size 6 before Paulek allows us out there. San JAcinto isn't even in the discussion anymore.

Why? So we can gouge people like Raahauges? If I'm a business owner having several hundred potential peeps show up at my place is all I want. No need to nickel and dime people.

Can someone call Lake Sutherland to see it there are open to us doing it there like we did the turkey tune up in March?

Some here think this is like the pope's coronation or something. It's not that big a deal to get it going. Sutherland for example had free parking, a shotgun pattern board area, venders, seminars etc. And it cost a whopping $0 to attend.

Imagine that.
