Jesse. I just sent you an e-mail. We need a table and some chairs for the youth booth. Will you have that there ? Let me know. I plan on bringing a couple of chairs but that is all I really have. Calfowler

Is that it? Three guys?

Well, Mike said he will have Tuna and some dead Angus.

I guess Tom got his 1st reprieve... Thanksgiving is just around the corner.

CAfowler,

I've been chatting with Mapman and he & I will be there early Sunday AM for the kids booth. I'm bringing an 8' x 12' EZ-UP and two 5' tables. Always keep my camo chairs in the truck. Anything else? I'll check in tonight.

Have to miss the BBQ and campout - have fun guys.

OK, here is an update from the field. I just came back to work for a little checkup on the kids. Pitdog, ODP, The Stoners, Bulldog (w/his girlfriend) and I had a great time last night. The bacon wrapped Ahi was great and so was the company. I didn't get much sleep (neither did outdoorplay due to my snoring) so we got up bright and early to get things set up. I couldn't believe the line of cars that was at the gate at 7AM. Prado was packed full of cars by eight. Some of the people there were just shooters on their regular Sunday morning shoot and stopped in just to see what was going on. But I am happy to say that all the booths were visited regularly with good numbers of people (and it's only noon)! A big shout out goes to outdoorplay, Bulldog, Jesse and the rest that have put on a great event. I can't wait till next year to participate again. I'll leave it up to pitdog to tell you the stories from the campfire on Saturday evening and Mike to tell you how the rest of the events went today.

Just got home. Taking a few minutes to relax before unpacking things. I think we had a great turnout for the short lead time on the event. Can't wait for next year. Jesse thanks for lighting a fire under everyones ass to get this thing done. ODP thanks for all your hard work getting this thing organized.

Went to the event today and enjoyed it. I brought my ten year old who got to shoot a 20 guage for the first time and broke 8 out of 20 birds.

Darius, your work looked fantastic, I appreciate your tips on caping out an elk.

Andy, it was great talking with you - you have mail.

I look forward to attending this event annually.

Me and a couple bud's made it out today, we got there kinda late. Good venders, good food, good seminars. The show that was put on by the dog trainer was great. They did a simulated hunt with lot's a calling and the dog's performed flawlesly. Jesse had a great booth set up with lot's of gear and it was really hard not to buy anything but with all the gear I've added this year I'M TAPPED. The calling contest never really panned out due to lack of entry's but there was no lack of calling and help from the pro's that attended. Andy with Taylor Talkers, Matt Burg,Robert Druck and many other that could really blow the call were a big help for guy's that had questions about calling. All-N-All great time, great turn out I just wish I hade more time to meet JHO guy's. Cant wait untill next year. Good job to all the guy's putting it together.

I have to say to have only 5 weeks to put this together, it was alot of fun. Mike(ODP), it was nice to meet you and not realizing who you were untill an hour before the show was over I felt like an idiot. I guess we just call each other buy our handles

on JHO. Your little girl had the dagger in my heart and my full attention. Let me tell you guys something, Outdoor Play's little girl is going to be an awesome caller some day. It was great to see some of you guys again, and meet some new faces as well. I had alot fun working with the little guys on there calling, and thanks to those that bought some of the calls, please call me if there is anything I can help you guys out with. It was a good day, talking to everyone about duck hunting, a passion we all love, I brought my dad and he had a blast. Darious, it was a awesome spending the day with you, I wish we had more time to talk, and we were right next to each other all day. Hope to see some of the pics of the day. RTIN, "DUDE" your calling is getting really good, and I'm impressed on how your picking that goose calling up, keep that practice up

What a great show... If y'all were wondering who the awesome duck caller was... it was I... Not Andy... Andy was too busy keeping the “Stoners” civil...Impossible task... more on that later
<

Seriously though, what a great time indeed! I can't wait till the 22nd of OCT.

I’ve never won anything in my life (except my cousin/wife that I won at an Arkansas Pitts family reunion... I can explain... later...) but to see those wonderful Flatland Honker Dekes show up at my door this evening was breathtaking!!! THANK YOU FLATLANDER, BULLDOG, OUTDOORPLAY AND JHO VERY MUCH for my first raffle win, and what a great prize it was!!!

Thanks to everyone who helped out with the event. It was fun to meet new people and watch the kids shoot.

Next years Waterfowl Day will be one week earlier (Sept 16-17) and we plan on the same Prado location and will make it 2 days. Please talk to any sponsors and businesses you think who might want to particiapte now since a lot of companies are projecting their budgets for next year.

Only one ugly moment after a great day, The 2 "Stoners" pitdog invited decided in their drunken stupor that they had to kill something. So with Coors beers in hand they walked out onto the range and tossed up a full sized honker decoy and blasted it with a shotgun, then high fiving each other. You could hear the gasps and "what the heck" from all the people still there.
<
For those not with our group who were shooting down on the other trap fields I'm sure we made a good impression with that display of assanine behaviuor.

Steve, leave the drunken idiots at home next time. That's the kind of black eye we don't need and will get us thrown out of the place. Where did you find those 2 neanderthals anyway? Please tell me you're not taking them hunting.

If it was a Dave Smith decoy they should of been, but if it was a Flatlander.................I'd let it slide.....

Jesse, Thanks for the T-shirt , I will proudly wear it to CANADA tomorrow when I leave for Alberta. The kids I brought to event had a great time, wish we could of stayed for the calling contests. I'am sure next year will even be better and looking forward to getting C.W.A. more involved next time. Great start for SoCal waterfowlers.
