I have not hunted on the ranch but my lease is across the fence from them. There is a good hog population in the area. We kill several a year on our place while deer hunting and used to trap a few as well. It is a pretty decent sized ranch so no telling what part of it you will be hunting. The hog hunting should be good. If you have any specific questions let me know. I was raised in the area and have been hunting there for 20 years or so.

I'm trying to get some info on the operations from people who have hunted it in the past. My friend and I are close to booking a 2 day hunt there next March. He lives at Ft Hood and will be picking me up in Austin. I may bring my family along and besides visiting our relatives in Round Rock what other stuff is there for them to see and do.

there is always the state capitol etc... of course that is a texas thing. San Marcos outlet malls are about 25 miles south of Austin which are usually popular with the wives. San Antonio is probably an hour and a half south with Fiesta Texas, Sea World, the River Walk etc. Austin has your normal malls etc..... me I have to drive into it every day for work so I just don't come back if I can help it. Let me know if you need any more info. I don't personally know the guy running the hunts on Solana Ranch although my dad knows him and likes him much better than the previous guy. My lease is on one side of it and I own a little place on the other side of the ranch. I can tell you there are hogs there just not how they run their hunts etc since I haven't hunted with them.
