It's nice living/hunting in a state that doesn't require tags for hogs. I can shoot all I want, whenever I want.

Yeah, but why didn't you shoot a couple of the other ones too?

Don't tell me you only had one tag?

no i had more than one tag but the others were all wet moms and babies, i think there might have been another boar in the brush but couldn't get a shot... I don't think these are the same ones i've been seing but there is plenty for the next time i go in a few weeks. got to get the old man one now. The story on this one was that me and the old man were on two differerent ridges about 200 yards away. the hogs were on the ridge i was on about 50 yards in front of me... my dad could see them from the other ridge about 200 yds, he was aiming at the same hog when i shot and couldn't find the other boar in time before they ran over the hill. anyway thought you guys might enjoy the story. ill let ya know how it goes in the next few weeks.-Dan buckhunter

The rule on that ranch is one biggame animal/year only. Just a word of advice to Buckhunter that game management on the ranch often read in this forum. You did the right thing by shooting only one pig yourself.

el_vaquero, you do have access to hunt this ranch yourself. Just do your homework to find out the ranch name and get a date in to go hunting. Email me if you need help.

Buckhunter,

I hope you know all the flack has been good-natured, and not meant to offend. I'm always tickled to see someone tagging out, private land or public.

Hope my GR membership pans out as well as some of the WU members have done.

Buckhunter, I don't assume your hog was killed on a hunting club land and I didn't mention any club name. You posted it yourself. The name of the link to your picture tells it all. Anyway it's still a nice hog and congrats!!!......By the way I spoke to the caretaker(cool guy) in camp last night and he mentioned you're the only lucky guy on that ranch so far this Spring Season.
