I just got back from Sonoma. We had been out there since Monday. Long story short, no shots but we did see a few. Weather was pretty brutal! It rained pretty much the entire time except for a little break on wednesday. Had a couple of hail storms as well. We got more than our share of hiking in, probably 10 miles each on tuesday and wednesday, we came to the conclusion that the pigs were staying tucked away pretty much during the day. Pretty fair amount of fresh sign around. The constantly swirling winds made it tough as well. That spoiled a couple of our hunts as we approached known bedding areas. We saw one pretty good herd tuesday evening in the private property working there way down to feed but ran out of light. Wednesday morning we were working a patch of brush and jumped a couple of pigs, one of em was probably 200+, worked its way right by my dad at about 10 yards but didnt present a shot. The other one it was with was quite a bit smaller. They were in the very thick stuff.
Im pretty sure we saw the bass boat in the above pic cruise by loggers this morning as we were breaking camp. It was mid morning. Was that you guys?? We had the big aluminum center console with the radar on the t top. Couple other guys camping there hadnt said they hadnt seen anything, but they were working a small area pretty hard so im pretty sure they knew where some were. Hopefully I'll get back out there again for a day trip before things wrap up out there.

That was us. We hunted an area down the lake earlier and were just cruising around looking to see what we could get into. Ended up leaving, eating lunch in town, drying our clothes at a laundry mat. Did anyone mention it rained up there? All day? Except after 4 pm. We got about 2 hours of hunting in before dark without rain. Only saw two pigs over on private property. Rain had em holed up.

Nice to meet you Wogg and Kentuck. It got a little wet out there on Sat. night, but was still a great time. Hopefully next time we all take some hogs.
