I recently moved to San Diego and am looking to get into hog hunting locally. I have a few spots to check out; one of which I will be going to this weekend. Anyway, I'm looking for someone to hunt with in the area (deer pig bird coyote) Also, any advice on areas to check out in SoCal would be great! I'm trying to setup another hunt next month. PM me if your interested.

If you do come across any pigs In San Diego PM Me, I have some areas that I also have yet to scout, the problem Is that
the extermination program that San Diego put together was far more than effective. seeing a pig is a rarity and finding
enough to hunt without wiping them out is still even rarer. But I have not lost faith in the reproductive abilities of our swine.

OPAH, I fully agree. The pigs will come back no matter what they do to try and eradicate. I was out last weekend for turkey opener and found some pig sign in the area. Most of what I found was old sign, but I did see some fresh tracks (it rained about a week prior so they couldn't be too old). Anyway, they're out there, not in huge numbers but they're there.

I saw some turkeys but haven't found any unicorns yet. Couldn't get close enough on the turkeys.

I've killed 4 or 5 (maybe even 6 or 7), public land, wild hogs in SD county the past five years. They're out there, but I can tell you this: they're not easy to get to, and they're even more difficult to get out. When I say "not easy", I mean really, really tough - as in "hellish" lol.

They are going to be in chino hills state park very soon if they aren't there already. They will probably make it into Orange County from there.

Found this one on the side of the road near pine and Hellman intersection in chino

Whats odd is that look like a hog gone feral more than anything, extremely well fed with what seems to be a shorter snout. I wonder how far away from Big Horn Horn Ranch that was from...

It's a good ways from there. But it does look somewhat domestic. I've also seen tons of tracks in areas closer to the dam.theres a few run off creeks that we fish on the weekends just for fun. When there is a good amount of rain the area behind the dam fills up with water and you see a lot more tracks closer to the city. I've seen deer and pig tracks and got some deer on trail cams in the city limits nice looked into it and there is absolutely no way to hunt them legally.

That's an escaped domestic pig, looks tasty though. Hunting around that area is a waste of time, it's illegal and residents and horse people close to that area will call the sheriff dept. and the game warden - not worth the hassle and expense. If you try, please post a report and tell us how much the fine was (and if they gave you your weapon back).
