Thanks for the info Mapmaker, it is appreciated that there is someone on here who knows how to help a man. Yeah I believe that spear is not a legal method of killing hogs in California, although I have heard that since they are considered to be pests they can be killed any which way. You Californians need to come down to Texas and get your'e spear hunt on! It truely is a way to get a dose of adrenaline.

Those photos are weak at best. Looks like another AS photo-shoot, posing with his digital in the backyard.

Looks like somebody feels a bit threatened because spears are much more challenging than a Bow.

Yeah you're right. I am threatened by a 12 year old in his dad's camos holding a sharp stick. You got me. Sorry.

Care to explain how spears are 'more challenging' than a bow? I highly doubt you're stalking hogs, then throwing your spear into them?

If you're spot and stalking the hogs then I would agree that chucking a spear is at least equally challenging to archery hunting but chucking a spear at a bayed pig is not challenging. With that said, I do support any and all legal hunting methods....to each his own.

I'm giving up the dogs and getting into spear chucking full-time! My new hunting partner convinced me.

I'm just bored because I should be spear hunting hogs in the snow right now....but I'm a weenie.
