Guns? Bows? Spears? Let's be fair here. Any good redneck from Riversidetucky knows that all you need is one Catahuala, one Cur, two Pitbulls, a roll of duct tape and a buck knife and you have a good ole hog huntin party! "Allegedly"

OK, enough is enough! Give this guy a break. That web site is one of the better hunting web sites I have seen in a long time! After all, it is time for us to let out the spear hunter that has been trapped inside us for way too long. I myself, find this post and the above video, empowering! Just because the guy in the video parents could obviously not afford braces, he still had the strength and self esteem to let out his inner spear hunter! Do you big trophy hunters have the same guts that this spear hunter carries as he spears and drowns a hog?

I am putting down my bow, moving to Texas where I can freely let the spear hunter coming rushing out of my soul.

Shame on all of you!

UH-OH, this has the makings of a thread that might outdo the old norcalihunter thread. But after watching the video from bogardi, it's clear he was not chasing the pigs, he was walking after them. Also, he was not chucking the spear, he was "stabbing" the pigs with it. Best of all though, I would sure like to hunt where the pigs don't care if they hear or smell you, and they also don't care if you are walking towards them with a video cam spotlight on them either!

Don't know what I am going to fantasize about tonight, its a toss-up: either the dumb pigs I can walk up on with a video cam or the Franco girl who carries her own spear!!! The pigs might be a safer bet, but "oh the humanity of it" if I was to go "spear to spear" with the spear girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LMAO, I think you have been pulling too much hose.[/b]

It's cracks like this that have had me pondering the relevancy of rifle, crossbow, archery hunting and even running dogs and trapping. Can't we all get along. Dude, like it or not, spear hunting is where it is at. What are you going to do when the government takes away those evil guns of yours...or, when the cost of archery equipment becomes cost prohibitive--wait, I think it already is

Look, I have been pondering starting up my own spear hunting shop when I get to Texas...don't hate when u walk out of you local Starbucks and see one of my spear hunting franchises across the street.

I'm all for it. I thought your post was funny as all get out. I wouldn't mind trying to spear a hog but heck I cant sneak up anything with a rifle. The pulling hose part wasn't meant in the derogatory sense, but rather a friendly jest meaning light headed for too much work(Sac Fire), I used to always like busting the guys chops at work when things slowed down on a call.

As far as taking more skill, simply watch this video[/b]

You're kiddin', right? You were walking thru a rice field, in the water, making more noise than a herd of cattle, walked right up to the pig, and jabbed'em with a spear? What skill does that involve?

Call it like it is Flatbroke, Sacfire is a paramedic in a fire house and not a fireman. That's why the hose jokes hurt.

Good point, i stand corrected....good night vision and the lack of nite time fear is a skill, or is it a trait? Isn't a skill something you can improve on...so night vision isn't a skill, it's a trait, and the lack of nite time fear...hell, that's just plain awesome.

Can anyone else here see in the dark and not affraid of shadows?
