I believe most pigs were spotted around the shooting bench and homestead area. AS did see some pigs near the AT&T and graveyard area.

And yes, as Big Bubba Daddy said, I was aways away from the "devil" pig when it cut loose and I think I actually jumped when I heard it. Startled me good and I thought for sure it was a stuck pig. Sure sounded like one that had been shot. I guess it turned out to be a monster pig. I know the group I got on had two that were well over 200 pounds if not pushing 300.

The PO is just starting to come out on my hands and forearms and lower legs right now. I also noticed a bit of an unsettling itching down below. Not a good sign

. Usually takes me about 3-4 days for the full break out. I did quite a bit of bushwacking in a creek bottom on Sunday AM trying to get on the last group of hogs, I know there was a ton of PO in there too. I am just hoping the break out is minor at this point 'cause it's coming.

By the time I got home Sunday a slash from my chin to my right eyelid started to puff up and bubble, must have had it on my hand and dragged a finger from my eye down wiping sweat or rain off my face, oh and you DON'T want to know what else itches like hell

Lots of PO there. It's dormant (leafless) right now but touching the stems/limbs can still expose you to it. I avoid the stuff as much as possible. Some places there are pretty thick with it.

Chopper has a great place to stay and some very nice land to hunt.
I just went down to hang with bbdaddy and see my first hog hunt. I will say that the devil pig at 60 yards giving that scream amped me up.
That pig was 250 or more I'd say. I had no idea what to expect and I was very pleasantly surprised.
The pigs Steve and I were on for a minute on Sunday morning were also very cool. I was rangefinder guy but when we got 33 yards from them I actually got the rush you get when you have a weapon in your hand...good times. Sorry about busting your potential encounter there bbd.
Steve great job on the deer and elk steaks on Saturday night!
I belong to a site like this in Washington (fishing) and have met many a fine dude who I'm now best buds with.
I hope to join you all on another hunt of some kind and I figure I need to get a bow now.

I hadn't been in a hunting camp with that many guys before. Listening to all the different stories of hunting here and abroad were great.

Only if you are allergic to it !!!!

It is everywhere and harder to identify this time of year with the leaves gone and nothing in bloom. The oils are still on the vines and you will still get it. Just be careful where you go and wash up after you get back to the cabin. A good rule of thumb is never take a leek after tieing your boot laces back up

Just stock up on some of this stuff and you'll be fine. I learned about this stuff on my first hunt to Chopper's.

Too true. I'm brand-new to archery hunting (been out 2 weekends since I got my bow set up in late December), but I've already been busted 2x by hogs I didn't even see that were hanging out with hogs that I did. Never had that problem with a rifle, but that is the difference between shooting at 100 yards and shooting at 20. Great post.

Yup. Another bit of advice for the gents is to use the inside of your shirt to - you know - hold the equipment. Keeps those PO soaked fingers off the sensitive valuables.

thanks for the great updates! i am in for the last weekend of march. i cannot wait! i like my poison oak in full bloom! j/k, i have not yet had a reaction, but from what i understand, it can come up at anytime. i figure, some tecnu, and claritin should be in my bags. i see pigs, and nothing on my body will feel the itch.

looking forward to meeting some new guys. my wife thinks i am strange.
