I've never hunted spy rock, but have heard it's a good ranch. It's very steep rugged terrain, they say if it rains you need to leave right away or you will never make up the hill coming out to the gate. It's good during deer season too.

Good luck, and lace the boots up tight!!

its been a few years since I have hunted that ranch. No longer a member of wu. Didn't like them. But spy rock is a good ranch. I have deer hunted and pig hunted there. It was good for both. It is way back in the hills about 25 miles from any highway or services. So bring everything with you. It is not that steep. I have hunted a lot steeper places. Thats just some wu propaganda. PM me if you have any ?

Hunted that place once and killed one pig from a group of 7. Hopefully the last few rains did not wash off any roads. Full time LOW 4WD is a must to get around that ranch. The northeastern end of the ranch is where I killed my pig back in 2000. Good luck.

Been quite a while since I hunted that ranch, always got into hogs while deer hunting and vice versa. HA. If it is your first time I would drive the roads to both familarize yourself with the ranch and to give a chance to binoc and spot some sign.

The ranch is large and I have seen pigs all over but was usually hunting later in the season when water was a factor. There are a lot of pigs on the property and due to the remoteness and limited pressure (the + of wilderness unlimited); it was not uncommon to walk up to hogs working an oak covered canyon the opposite of a creek or spring even in the middle of the day.

You'll see a lot of wildlife, bears all over, yotes and plenty of deer.

Good Luck
