We have about, or at a minimum 100,000 acres to hunt.
Some is fenced with cattle barbwire fence, some with field fence the 4 ft mesh common for sheep containment and predator reduction in the USA. Some is fenced with 2 meter fence sometimes called "high fence". Some is not fenced at all, some of the border is the Limpop River.

Some Property is working cattle ranch, some plantations with orchards, some farms with corn, melons, pumpkins, lucerne, etc. Some Property is just vast wild bush land. Some more open grass lands. With 100,000 acres there is a lot of diverse habitats, 100K acres is over 150 square miles lots of space and lots of game.

However even with that huge number, 75% of the game in any conditions be it wild, high fenced, or anywhere will use about 25% of the habitat. Land and food is not created equal and true wild game knows where the best food, water, and cover is at. The Professional hunters also study this and know how to cut to the chase when hunters come. We have a lot of skill to get the hunters into the most productive areas for the short time they are with us.

HjJack,
You keeping saying 10,000 acres,Which is about 7000 hectors (2.25 hectors vs acres) As I stated in my other post it sooulds like a great first hunt.As a PH I would think that you might have app. cost of salting caping and shipping. The hunt that I just got back fro we paid inEuros, since the Rand is down as wll as the dollar. If you can you moight see what it cost this ?
I just got back from a lion hunt on the Bots & SA border. Assoon as I can find my cale to camera I'll post. We took 6 BIG cats ,We think that on e will maybe the #4 ,will have to so when the skinning is cone, They all wieghted over 550 lbs. The ranch pwer sold he ranch to a rich Russian. The ranch is over 600,000 Heactors, not all is HF. WE had a great time . Good luck on your fishing trip. I think that I need to go to bed aftet the flight back over,,wll maybe after couple fo glasses of Crown

Maybe you can re-phrase your questions I'm not at all sure what you're asking me? I'm not saying 10,000 acres as you wrote.

I wrote 100,000 acres not Hectars.

October through April are the least desireable months, hot, wet, and lots of bugs including ticks. Winter has far less tick damage on the hides. May through Aug is a much better plan.

I have lots of room remaining at two of the camps, and limited space at the other two. Email me if you want some details I have some others asking the same questions and I can forward the Emails I sent them with the details.

I have a couple of questions (sorry if I missed it): 1. is this property set up for bowhunting...? Blinds...? 2. Is a .338 caliber adequate for most plains game...? 3. If not, do they have rifle(s) for hire.....? Thanks in advance.

We have blinds that can be used universally by any weapon choice, and a 338 is a far more powerful rifle then needed for PG animals. If you chose to you could just pack archery gear, and use my rifles at no charge should you decide to hunt some game with a rifle.

About 30% of the hunters use my guns, they are high end custom rifles. Not a typical camp gun or beater truck rifle. These have premium Benchrest barrels, rimrock synthetic stocks( best made in the world) and Leupold Scopes with custom reticles. All have been set up bedded and tuned by a master gunsmith. They are better then almost any rifle a hunter would bring of his own. All the loads have been made by me and shoot premium Swift Aframe bullets, or Barnes TSX bullets. Last year well over 100 animals were shot with my 30/06 and only one Blue Wildebeast was lost due admittedly to a bad shot by the hunter. That was a typical season, and that 30/06 has been doing this for pushing 20 years now. Imagne the game totals that rifle has! You can be quite confident in the use of my rifles in our camp if you choose to travel with your archery kit alone.
