Steelhead fishing

Anyone been steelhead fishing on the rivers around Sacramento?  I've done alot of fly fishing for trout but am new to steelhead.  I've got an 8wt Redington that I'm looking to buy a reel for, probably the redington RS2 large arbor.  I'm looking for tips on a good fly line and fly selection.  Thanks in advance!

Try the American River around Rancho Cordova. I caught four today at Goethe Park in three hours on a egg-sucking leech. GOOD LUCK

Wow that's great.  How big were they. What type of set up do you have?  I've got everything but the sinking line.  Any tips?
