I have been checking through the cabelas and BPS catalogs and the steiner predators 8 x 30 's seem to be in my price range and advertise the ability to see game in heavy cover and foilage as its claim to fame. Do any of you own these or looked through them. Its tough to order a set of binocs without looking through them first or atleast hearing some objective opinions.

I have never tried the binoculars but I do have a Steiner scope.  It works great.  I have used it for about 8 years now.

I looked through some predators at the last Edison Fiels gun show and they were pretty blurry. I don't know if it's because they've been dropped since they were there for people to look through. I am also interested in these binocs. Anyone ever try or own the Leupold Goldrings?

yotegetter,

I used and still own a pair of 10x40 Goldrings. They are good glass. The only problem I had with them is after a few years of tough use they came out of coulmination (sp?). I sent them back and they repaired them and had them back within two weeks. I'm a firm believer in Leupold products, but have since switched brands of bino's.

Since I bought my Lieca's they have been relegated to loaner/daughter/backup status. I'm not up to speed on this, but I'm not sure they even make them anymore since they went to the WindRiver line, which are imported. Anybody know for sure?
