What's the most unusual spot you've ever founf a shed in? I don't find too many but the most surprising spot I ever got one was in a playground. It was in a State Park, where a very thin strip of cover ran along the edge of a playground, with teeter-totters and the whole works. the buck must've been cutting thru the playground edge when it dropped. Snow was just getting off.

Shag,
I told this story in the Roll Call and introductions, but I'll share it here too. My first shed was the oddest spot I've found one. Actually found my first shed from a canoe while bass fishing. I got caught up on an overhang near shore, paddled in to retrieve it, and when I went to paddle back out, I looked down to see a side of five in about two feet of water. It was about 15' from shore. During this time of year though, I see them everywhere. Especially after a day or weekend of looking for them. Find myself double checking antler looking things in the strangest of places. A curved branch in the shavings around the tree bases in the mall parking lot, turning around and glassing fields I drive by because I swear...And the shed dreams...I think I have a problem.

Leinie's you had me LOL. The shed dreams....and I think I have a problem...I can relate to that for sure. The shed in 5' of water beats mine hands down. Not really strange but my first one ever was a nice 4 point side I found frozen in a small "stream" where the buck had apparently jumped this little trickle and dumped the antler on the way over. I had to chip it out of the ice. Found the other half too, hjust the tips of the points protruding through the snow like in Deershed's recent picture.

Shag-I found a nice set one time laying in the middle of a well traveled road. One half was actually laying 5' off the road and the other in the middle.I pulled along side of it opened the door and reached down and picked it up,there was traffic behind me too.
I found another one laying about 2" off the ground on top of some bushes one time. Then there was one in the middle of a log jam in a small creek.
I've found several in suburbia back yards, but last weeks was the best. There wasn't much to this yard and the shed only layed about 20" from the guys back door.I wanted to get a picture of it as it layed, but was affraid somebody might come out yelling or call the cops on me.
I'd have to say the strangest place I ever found one would be the shed I had to run down the squirrel to get.I was out mushroom hunting and saw a squirrel chewing on something.I started heading towards the squirrel for a closer look when he took off with what ever it was. When he went across a fallen log up off the ground he lost it.He hesitated a moment looking at it then me, then took off again.
That shed had chew marks over the entire shed.

I knew you'd trump everyone with that one you picked out of the passing lane of interstate 90 down there. I have found two hanging in bushes a couple feet off the ground but I imagine anyone who's found 40 or 50 has found some of those "hangers".

The wierdest place ive found a shed is in a pack rats nest.I just saw the little bugger run into his nest that was under a big sheet of ply wood out in the woods so I lifted it up and there it was the smallest four pt. i ever seen.

I went out today and added a few more to the pile.I have permission to park in front of this one house by the owners in a residentail area.I then cut though their yard to get back to my shed hunting grounds. After I was done in that area I got in my truck and started heading out.I hadn't drove 100 yds. when I spotted a shed laying between a couple houses.
There was a house on both sides then another behind. In the pic the steps you see to the right of the shed lead up to a patio and the back door. There's a house to the left and you can see the house in the back.
I took the picture with my digital hanging out the blazer window.

Congrats on the sheds. Did you get the shed in the picture also?? Tyler is hoping he can find a few in and around town here.

We haven't found any in unusual places. Have found one 3 feet up in a bush.

No way I was leaving that shed lay.It safely made it back to my blazer with out anybody saying a word. That was my second shed laying in a yard this year and another shed wasn't too far from being number 3.
I know many get dropped in yards, but all the homeowners I ever talk to say they never find any in their yards. Most have no clue what a shed is when I ask??

And how many strange looks do you get when you ask if you can have the "shed" on their property. LOL

The strangest place I have found was this year, although it doesn't top deershed's middle of the road story, I was traveling at 60 mph with the family about a month ago, on a four line highway, when out of the corner of my eye I spyed an antler lying along the guardrail, my wife though I was nuts, but I drove 5 miles out of my way to turn around and go back. My wife was amazed, and she even got out to grab it for me because the traffic on my side was right next to my door. It was a decent 4 pt. with some palmation on it, it must have jumped the guardrail and jarred it loose, definately a shed, not a collision type loss.
