Hello again! Manny here with another question.

I've read and heard different opinions on this. I understand for safety reason alone eye protection is recommend when handling a firearm. But what effect does it have (if any) while hunting? I personally didn't think it made a difference, until I heard someone say that glasses can reflect light thus giving yourself away. Does that hold true for both sunglasses and non... Any imput is greatly appreciated.

One side note. I want to thank everyone for taking the time to give detailed answers to my newbie type questions:)

I have seen sunglasses shine from hundreds of yards away as well as peoples PIE HOLES.....There are sunglasses out there that don't reflect and while your worrying about that cover your pie hole too with a face mask..

I find that suglasses are a pain as they just get in the way when using binoculars. That plus they fog when it's hot, get dusty, break, etc.... Sure it's a minor safety issue when shooting, but I'll take that risk.

I just want to add as far as things that could give u away to the game u are hunting as far as shine or reflection is your equipment or hunting weapons like a gun that has shinny barrels or plates or arrows broadheads. Also Jewelery like a real shinny blinging ring or neck chain or earing's, belt buckles.
The biggest giveaway to animal u are trying to approach even if u are all camoed out is face and then hands.
So it doesn't hurt to put some face camo on it helps alot. Go with face camo color combo like green, brown and black if possible.......tra

I wear a camo boonie hat for shade, and plain'ol clear safety glasses. Shaded safety glasses are great and not that dark but I feel like I will miss seeing the slightest movement in the field when I wear em, that's just me. But I don't mind the shaded ones when out for birds shooting skywards, especially with a rising early morning sun.

Yea I agree sunglasses get in the way. I have a face mask and when tying to wear both my glasses and face mask it's a pain and of course binoculars add to the hassle. Thanks for the info everyone
