Went home to NorCal for the weekend and managed to get some pig hunting in. Only saw one trophy boar, tried to get within bow range but was winded. Shot a nice young meat boar, which charged and busted my bow up a little. He was quickly taken care of by my dad's .270. Ended up being an expensive pig, busted two composite shafts. Bow was fine otherwise. Here's a couple pics.

Did you hunt it with that dog? Or is the dog just getting in there for the picture?

Good deal, glad to hear it was only your bow that got damaged. Exactly what words were you thinking when he started to charge, LOL! Had to be a rush.

The boar was taken southeast of Livermore. The dog got in on the action after it was already shot, he bayed the pig and then I came up and was going to put another arrow in when he charged. I wasnt too scared because its a pretty small boar, but I certainly was surprised and caught off guard. If it was a big boar I probably would have ended up with some stitches.

Sounds awesome! The story was great.

It's always a good reminder when they charge too... sometimes we take too much for granted. Given half a chance, the critters can always get in a last lick if you don't pay attention. I got my wake-up call from a little whitetail buck. A boar (even a little one) is way more dangerous!

Way to go!
Had one charge me once. Loved the Rush but am willing to wait a while before that happens again.

Really neat that you shared the experience with your dad too. Congrats.
